In My Opinion, Giant is the best value bike manufacturer. And also, the OP asked which one would you personally pick, so I responded as requested. Again, based on that I noted that I didn't look up its specs for comparison. So I didn't bother to look up the specs on the one the OP posted to compare, which is what I noted.ģ) Cube isn't sold here locally as far as I know, so if I can't see and ride it, I won't consider it. I never presented my opinions as fact, but if you must know the whole story, I based them on the following:ġ) I currently own a 14 year old Giant that has performed flawlessly, and therefore I am somewhat biased towards the brand as they have earned my trust with an excellent product.Ģ) I briefly looked at (and test rode) Scott at my LBS in comparison to Giant, Trek and Specialized, and as I noted, and to me it appeared inferior to all, so that's why I wouldn't consider one. Isn't that what forums are all about, sharing personal experiences? I hope your bike turns out to be as good as you assert.Congratulations, you are correct in noticing that I did in fact note that both comments were my own personal choices. I realize the OP has since bought a bike and so the thread is essentially dead but I had to respond to this post. I hope your bike turns out to be as good as you assert. You've essentially just rationalized your own personal choice and are proclaiming a bike you don't even own yet. Why would you not consider Scott and Cube? Both companies make fine bikes. Good luck.Ĭheers TRJBI realize the OP has since bought a bike and so the thread is essentially dead but I had to respond to this post. In the end, just be sure to buy something that makes you happy. I ordered a new 2017 model a couple of weeks ago and am still waiting on delivery. My personal choice from all of the manufacturers, styles and models is the Giant Roam 0. Roam 2 should be in your price range and is very well equipped for the price. If you want rigid, look at the Giant Toughroad. You have to decide if you want a rigid fork or suspension. At the same component level, Giant will be lower in cost. Their quality is equal, and at the same price, Giant will have better components. IMO, Giant offers better value than either Specialized or Trek, and any of the other brands. I don't know about the Scott's and Cube's because I would personally never consider either of those brands. Sirrus and Trek 7.#'s are rigid fork Crossroads and Trek 8.#'s are suspension forks. There's a lot of variability in the bikes you posted.
